Lyle Rhodebeck elected State Auto vice president

Lyle D. Rhodebeck has been named director of operational effectiveness of the State Auto Insurance Companies. Rhodebeck has also been elected vice president by the boards of directors of State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company, State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Company, State Auto Wisconsin, Meridian Security, State Auto Florida, Beacon National and Beacon Lloyds.

After spending the first 16 years of his insurance career in finance and accounting with Shelby Insurance, Rhodebeck joined Grange Insurance, where he spent the past 13 years as vice president of claims, vice president of personal lines and vice president of information services/technology.

“Lyle has direct responsibility for our payment services, policyholder services, and business insurance support departments,” said State Auto Executive Vice President and COO Mark Blackburn. “Working with managers in those departments, Lyle will help focus our efforts to improve efficiency and enhance the productivity of a variety of processes. Under his leadership, State Auto will offer even better service to our policyholders and agency partners.”

Rhodebeck, 50, serves on the board of trustees of The Breathing Association, in addition to his service to United Way and Boy Scouts of America. He has been a member of numerous industry trade associations and is a past president of the Ohio Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (OAMIC). As a CPA, he is also a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants. Rhodebeck holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Ashland University.
