COLUMBUS, Ohio – March 24, 2008 – Joyce A. Dallessio and Luyang Fu have been elected assistant secretaries by the boards of directors of State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company and State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Company.
Dallessio, 40, recently joined State Auto as sales financial officer following a nearly 20-year career with Travelers, where she most recently managed their substantial New York presence, including pricing, product, competitive analysis and underwriting. She also gained broad experience working directly with independent agents during her years as a financial officer in Travelers’ southern region. Dallessio is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Fu, 34, is an associate actuary who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Renmin University of China, and a master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is responsible for directing the company’s predictive modeling efforts and has authored a number of papers on the subject. Prior to joining State Auto, Fu served in various actuarial roles with both Grange Insurance and Bristol West Insurance.
