COLUMBUS, Ohio – October 24, 2006 – An Ohio-based insurance company has opened its first Chicagoland office in Naperville, as it expands with a growing segment of its commercial account business.
The State Auto Middle Market Insurance (SAMMI) office, located at 55 Shuman Boulevard, is currently operating with five State Auto employees. A formal grand opening is planned for October 30.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the Naperville business community,” said Zone Vice President Lee Balcerak, who heads the office. “We look forward to long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with our Chicagoland agents and clients.”
SAMMI was created in early 2004 in response to agent requests to expand the size and scope of its commercial lines business. Since that time, SAMMI, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has grown exponentially, necessitating the creation of the Naperville office and another in Peoria (Phoenix), Ariz.
“Middle market accounts are larger commercial risks, usually with at least $100,000 in annual premium, that require more services than the smaller Main Street-type businesses,” added SAMMI Vice President Larry Williams. “We’ve opened these two new locations so our professionals can be closer and more responsive to their clients.”
SAMMI is part of the State Auto Insurance Companies, a regional property and casualty insurance group engaged in marketing personal and commercial insurance products through more than 22,500 independent agents in 27 states. The company has been named Forbes Magazine’s “Best Managed Insurance Company in America” for 2006.
