Community Initiatives

We believe in creating a culture where local community involvement is encouraged and supported.

State Auto cares about our communities

State Auto actively supports the communities in which we live and work. Not only in dollars, but through the time and energy of our associates.

We participate in runs, walks, tutoring programs and fundraisers, and more than 20 State Auto officers are members of foundations and boards that support the arts, education and human services.

Our Jack C. Boyle Matching Gift Program matches associate contributions to qualifying 501(c)3 organizations.

Our Invest a Day program grants each associate a day off each year to volunteer in their community. Through Invest a Day, State Auto associates have invested thousands of hours.

Community Partnerships: We partner with non-profit organizations in Columbus and other locations across the country to support local needs of each community.

State Auto Foundation: Established in 1988, is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that administers a trust fund dedicated to other 501(c)3 organizations. The Foundation acts on behalf of the corporate giving interests of the State Auto Insurance Companies.

Associate giving campaigns:  Associates generously support the United Way and Mid-Ohio Foodbank through our annual giving campaigns. We also organize drives throughout the year to collect items for local organizations such as food, coats/hats/gloves, school supplies.

Jay Yano Community Service Award: Created in 2016 to honor our late General Counsel, Jay Yano. The award honors a State Auto associate who demonstrates significant contributions to the community through volunteer service.  The honoree selected should demonstrate exemplary leadership, passion, and a commitment to volunteerism in service to others.
