COLUMBUS, Ohio – March 13, 2008 – The State Auto Insurance Companies will roll out personal insurance products in Texas on Saturday, March 15, less than a year after the Columbus, Ohio-based insurer acquired Beacon Insurance Group of Wichita Falls.
“We’re excited to be able to offer State Auto personal insurance products to our Texas agency partners,” said Director of Personal Insurance Joel Brown. “We see unlimited potential in the state. The fact that there are few regional players in Texas means a special opportunity exists for us to distinguish ourselves from the pack, and we’re ready for battle in the Texas marketplace.”
State Auto’s personal insurance products include:
- CustomFitSM, a flexible personal auto product that’s easy for agents to quote and write, offering customers the best possible rate for which they qualify at every renewal;
- Prime of Life, a unique program for State Auto home and auto policyholders over age 45, offering substantial premium discounts and outstanding extra-value coverages at no additional charge;
- Homeowners Options Program, designed to create the right insurance coverage for homes, apartments, or condominiums, with a variety of additional coverages to tailor policies to individual needs; and
- Identity Theft Protection, offered to all State Auto home and farm/ranch insurance customers at no additional cost.
“We’ve been looking forward to State Auto making its personal insurance products available in Texas,” said agent John Yeager of Wylie Insurance Agency Inc. in Wylie. “They have a full range of products that will help us better compete in the marketplace. With outstanding products and an outstanding reputation for service, strength, and stability, State Auto will be a great fit for our agency and our customers.”
Agent James Brown of Upshaw and Brown Insurance in Amarillo says the personal insurance product rollout shows State Auto is maintaining Beacon’s high level of commitment to Texas.
“We have enjoyed great personal and professional relationships with Beacon, now State Auto staff. They really do care about their agents,” said Brown. “I want to see State Auto succeed in Texas because it means greater opportunities for agents and greater choice for consumers."
