COLUMBUS, Ohio – April 12, 2012 – The boards of directors of State Automobile Mutual and State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Companies have named a number of associates officers of the companies.X
Greg Doyle, Senior Vice President, Director of Programs, is responsible for overseeing specialty programs at Rockhill Holding Company (Rockhill), a State Auto subsidiary. Prior to joining State Auto, Doyle held senior level positions with CastlePoint Holdings and the BMS Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College.
John Janssen, Specialty Lines Vice President, Actuary, is responsible for leading the actuarial division of Rockhill. Prior to joining State Auto, Janssen served in senior level positions with GMAC Insurance and Travelers. He holds a degree from Michigan Technical University and is a member of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Scott Jones, Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, started with State Auto in 1989. Jones previously served as a portfolio manager and senior financial accountant with State Auto and is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
Karen Longshore, Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, joined State Auto earlier this year to drive alignment of the company’s technology vision with overall business strategy. Longshore previously held senior level IT positions with BP Solar in Frederick, Md., and Crump Group, the largest wholesale insurance distributor in the United States headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and a graduate degree from the University of Maryland.
Charlie McShane, Vice President of Business Insurance, joined State Auto in 2006 as the Regional President for the Eastern Region. Prior to joining State Auto, McShane had extensive insurance experience with Zurich, St Paul, USF&G and Aetna Life and Casualty. He holds a degree from Florida Institute of Technology and both the Associate in Risk Management and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
Rick Nesbitt, Specialty Lines Vice President, Specialty Lines Binding Authority, is responsible for overseeing binding authority at Rockhill. Nesbitt has nearly 10 years of experience in senior level positions working in specialty insurance with RSUI Indemnity Company and Crump Insurance Services. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.
A.Q. Orza, Senior Vice President, Specialty Lines Professional Liability, is responsible for leading the management and professional liability insurance division for Rockhill. Orza is a recognized expert in the professional liability insurance sector with over 30 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was vice president and manager of the executive products group at RLI Insurance Company, where he led all underwriting and operational functions. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
Pam Reese, Vice President, Specialty Lines Property Underwriting, is responsible for leading property underwriting for Rockhill. Prior to working for State Auto, Reese most recently served as a vice president of Crum & Forster Insurance Company, in addition to holding other management roles overseeing property lines. Reese is a graduate of the University of Central Florida.
Garick Zillgitt, Vice President, Specialty Lines Business Development, is responsible for leading marketing and business development for Rockhill. Zillgitt has nearly 30 years of wide-ranging industry experience with insurers, reinsurers, and brokers, and will be responsible for cultivating and strengthening Rockhill’s producer relationships as well as seeking and developing new business opportunities. Garick holds a degree in finance from Oregon State University.
