COLUMBUS, Ohio -- November 26, 2003 -- Michael J. Fiorile and Mark A. Blackburn were elected to the State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company's board of directors at the board's November 21 meeting.
Fiorile has been president and chief executive officer of the Dispatch Broadcast Group since April, 1994 and was recently named senior vice president, sales of The Dispatch Printing Company, on whose board he is a member. Prior to joining the Dispatch Broadcast Group, he served as vice president and general manager of four television stations, including stations in Sacramento, California and Asheville, North Carolina. He is active in community affairs, serving as chairman of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce and immediate past chairman of the board of trustees of Columbus School for Girls. Fiorile graduated cum laude from Boston College with a B.A in communications.
Blackburn joined State Auto in July, 1999 as vice president of Assumed Reinsurance Operations. In 2001 he was named senior vice president - director of insurance operations. Blackburn's thirty-year insurance career has included positions in commercial and personal lines underwriting, agency development, sales and marketing. Before joining State Auto he had served in executive capacities with prominent national and regional reinsurance and property casualty companies. Blackburn is a graduate of Ohio State University and is active in numerous industry and civic organizations.
