Who has access to my data?

Only you and State Auto will have access to the data that is connected directly to you. Your data will be anonymous to our vendors who collect and analyze the information. 

Does State Auto partners with third parties for the data collection?

Yes. State Auto contracts with telematics and analytics companies to provide the State Auto Safety 360 program. Our device automatically encrypts and transfers the data over a closed cellular network to our partners' secure databases. 

How do they make sure it's secure?

Through encryption, the process of encoding messages or data in such a way that only authorized parties can read it. This is designed to try to prevent hackers from accessing your personal information.

How long will you keep my driving information?

For as long as required or permitted by law. The data will support our ongoing analytics and modeling development needs.

Is my location information available?

Yes. GPS data is collected primarily for your reference to show your driving events on a map within the secure program website. The data also enables us to provide you with map location references to show you where your driving events occur. 

Do they know who was driving the vehicle?

No. The device only collects vehicle performance information.
